Delete your account
Last updated 16 October 2026
Draft. The passage in [square brackets] needs an answer from our database
provider's plan before this page is final.
Deleting your account deletes everything in it, for good. It cannot be undone, and we cannot bring anything back afterwards.
If you subscribe, cancel first. Deleting your account does not cancel an App
Store subscription. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and
cancel there. Otherwise you will keep being charged for something you can no longer open.
In the app
- Open Aeterna and go to Me.
- If you want a copy of what you wrote, tap Export my data first.
- Tap Delete account, then Delete everything.
The deletion happens straight away, and you are signed out.
Without the app
Email support@aeterna-app.com with the subject “Delete my account”, from the email address you sign in with. We will reply to that address to confirm the request is yours, and we delete the account within 30 days of your confirmation. We will tell you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your email address, your name and your profile
- Your prayers, reminders and check-ins
- Your conversations with the Companion
- Your listening progress, journeys and settings
- Feedback you sent from the app
The data is erased from the database, not hidden. Database backups roll over and are gone after [BACKUP RETENTION, e.g. 7] days.
What is kept
- Payment records, if you subscribed, for as long as tax and accounting law requires, with your account identifier removed. See the Privacy Policy.
- Usage analytics, such as which screens were opened. They are filed under a random number, never your email or name, and they never contain anything you wrote. They do include the language, tradition and season you chose. They are not yet deleted automatically with the account. Write to us and we will delete them too.
